I'd been active my whole life. Started ballet when I was 4, then did field hockey pretty much my whole childhood into my teens, track, racquet sports, whatever I could throw myself into.
I started working and exercising became the thing I'd get to “later.” Later doesn't actually arrive, by the way. You just wake up one day and years have passed.
Then I came across the stats on what happens to women's muscles and bones after 30 if you're not doing anything about it. That really hit me hard because I was that person.
So, I walked into a gym with zero plan. Guessed my way through workouts. Avoided the weights section completely because I felt out of place amongst the gym bros.
I didn't know where to start so I hired a coach. 3 months just to figure out training and food. Somewhere in those three months something shifted, and now I am the coach I needed back then.
